The Other Side Arts
The Other Side Arts (TOSA) is a nonprofit dedicated to encouraging personal expression, building community, creating dialogue, and increasing tolerance through art. TOSA provides arts instruction and exhibition opportunities to historically underserved populations, youth, artists, and the general public. TOSA creates an exploratory environment that emphasizes inclusion and inherent worth.Founded in 2002, The Other Side Arts began as a Denver arts space with galleries, affordable artist studios, and a classroom. To date, TOSA has served over 35,000 persons within the greater Denver metro area and has collaborated with over 100 human services and nonprofit organizations.
The Other Side Arts provides education, exhibition, and artist development opportunities for artists and underserved populations. The Education and Outreach Programs bring art to those that may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience creative expression. TOSA provides free and low cost art workshops for both children and adults frequenting local human service organizations. The work created in these workshops is exhibited in TOSA gallery shows.
Through TOSA's Artist Development program local artists can take part in creative and career development opportunities such as Business of Art Marketing, non-defending peer critiques and Art and Fear workshops.
The arts inspire, awaken, and motivate. TOSA continually strives to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the remarkable benefits of art and creativity.
