Hannah Kahn Dance Company

Hannah Kahn Dance Company, one of Denver's finest professional modern dance troupes, has been sharing its passion for dance with the community since its inception in 1988. The Company offers performances, classes, workshops and school residencies.

Kahn's choreography has been described as "liquid and lyrical" and "effervescent and witty" by Marc Shulgold in the Rocky Mountain News, and as revealing "complexity and emotional richness" by Janine Gastineau in the Boulder Planet. The Company's dances use music from popular to classical, as well as world music and jazz. They invigorate and inspire the audience with their energy, discipline and joy. Bringing a unique form of creativity and artistic expression to children has long been a goal for the company.

Hannah Kahn believes that dance, with its joyful manifestation of form, structure, creativity, and discipline, is a magnificent teaching tool. Each year the Company performs its interactive and educational school show How To Build a Dance for thousands of school children.

Hannah Kahn, founder and artistic director, is a master teacher and choreographer with 36 years of experience creating over 100 dances. After graduating from the Juilliard School, Kahn founded the company in New York, and directed it there for twelve years before moving to Colorado in 1988. The Company receives support from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, The Denver Foundation and the Denver Ballet Guild.
