Kim Robards Dance

Kim Robards Dance (KRD) is a professional modern dance, international touring company that provides high quality, innovative artistic programming and outstanding, award winning educational programming for communities statewide, nationally, and internationally.

Originally founded in 1987 as Colorado Repertory Dance Company, the company brought emerging and recognized modern dance artists to Colorado communities. In 1993, the company changed its name to Kim Robards Dance, Inc. to focus on creating, supporting and presenting the critically acclaimed choreographic talents of Artistic Director, Kim Robards. Ms. Robard's vision has led her company to receive international attention through her unique choreographic style and singular approach to technical training for dancers.

KRD is unique in that it is a multi-generational company with dancers ranging in age from 21 to 50+ who perform the viscerally powerful choreography of Artistic Director Kim Robards. The company members not only perform in the main stage events but also participate in outreach settings, and teach workshops and master classes.

The mission of Kim Robards Dance is to expand awareness of modern dance as a unique art form that inspires and transforms lives through creating, performing and educating. The means through which Kim Robards Dance accomplishes this mission include the following programs: Statewide, National and International Touring Residencies; Choreographic Development and Commissions; Educational Community Outreach Performances and Workshops; The KRD School; The KRD studio and performance space.
