Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave

Enjoy the best view in Denver, shop the largest museum gift shop in Colorado and learn about the area's most famous "resident" at the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave site.  Located on Lookout Mountain, with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains, the site includes a museum, the gift shop, a picnic area and, of course, Buffalo Bill's grave.  The Buffalo Bill Museum offers exhibits that explain Buffalo Bill's life and times.  See Buffalo Bill's guns, saddles, and show outfits as well as artifacts from his famous friends, like Sitting Bull and Wild Bill Hickok.  Enjoy colorful Wild West show posters, an introductory video with old footage from the shows and a special area where you can learn if Buffalo Bill visited your home town.  There are also children's activities throughout, including an area where families can try on cowboy outfits and get photographs on the Museum's fiberglass horse.  The Pahaska Tepee gift shop offers an old-time curio experience with a chance to purchase everything from Stetson hats to books about the West to reproductions of Wild West posters.  The cafe in the shop offers such entrees as buffalo burgers, buffalo hot dogs and buffalo chili.

The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave site is located off I-70, just 30 minutes from downtown Denver.  Museum admission is $5.00 for adults, $1.00 for children, ages 6 to 15, and $4.00 for seniors over 65.  The Museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm, seven days a week from May 1 to October 31.  From Nov. 1 to April 30 hours are from 9 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
