Molly Brown House Museum

"The Molly Brown House Museum, long-time Denver home to Titanic's Unsinkable Margaret "Molly" Brown,  has been open to the public since 1970, when it was saved from the threat of demolition by a group of citizens.  This dedicated group became local non-profit Historic Denver, Inc. and after lovingly restoring the home to its Brown era opulence, has continued to own and operate the Museum for more than four decades. At the time of Margaret "Molly" Brown's birth in 1867, few American women owned property, educational opportunity was limited and a woman with the privilege of holding a credit card was more than a century away.  Women did not vote, they did not travel alone and certainly did not seek media attention.  As one of only a handful of historic sites in the country dedicated to the interpretation of a woman's life, the Molly Brown House Museum has a tremendous responsibility to not only share Margaret "Molly" Brown's story but also to reveal the layers of her extraordinary life within this context, which seems so foreign to us today.

The Molly Brown House Museum is now one of the region's top tourist destinations and our programming includes daily tours of her historic home and special seasonal exhibits. The Museum also hosts special events throughout the year, including teas, luncheons, dinners and special tours, such as Victorian Horrors each October. The Museum also offers a variety of outreach programs including a Speakers Bureau for adult groups as well as traveling programs for schools, such as our carpetbag program, a women's history program, a Lego City program and a program on Denver's growth and establishment.
