Cherry Creek Chorale
4500 E Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80113
The Cherry Creek Chorale was founded in 1980 by former students and parents of the Cherry Creek School System. That small group has expanded to 130 members and, consistent with its founding commitment to quality, has expanded its reach into every kind of choral music — secular and religious classics, Broadway, modern compositions (including works we commission), spirituals, regional and folk favorites. If it’s good, we’ll sing it, and sing it well.
In our 2012-13 season, we added a small vocal ensemble — the CherryTones — drawn from our members, singing jazz, pop, and rock numbers, to add variety to our regular concerts and to reach out to new audiences with a new repertoire, in new venues, including corporate outreach.
We present four regular concerts each season (two performances per concert). Each concert features the Chorale as a whole and The CherryTones, and almost every concert includes collaborating partners, who perform with the Chorale and in their own set. Concert themes vary, but, in a given season, we normally cover a broad range of choral styles and genres.
In addition to these regular concerts, we, or a portion of our members (including The CherryTones), perform in a range of venues that, in the past three years, have included such diverse settings as Coors Field, Macky Auditorium in Boulder, Mission Hills Church in Littleton, Bellco Theater at the Denver Convention Center, Tagawa Garden Center in Centennial, Denver’s Rock’n Roll Marathon, Georgetown Colorado’s Christmas Market, the Southwest Mall in Littleton, the LoneTree Arts Center, and others.
