Music Director Lawrence Golan

Founded in 1948, the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (DPO) is dedicated to ensuring that the world’s great symphonic compositions (both old and new) are performed, heard, felt, understood, appreciated, and valued – and that they are available to the Metro Denver community at an affordable price. The orchestra aims to provide metro Denver with high-quality accessible classical music. KPOF Hall, the orchestra’s 600 seat home venue, provides an intimate setting relished by its patrons.

dpo1Music Director Lawrence Golan is the winner of many national and international awards including nine ASCAP Awards, five Global Music Awards, two Prestige Music Awards and two DownBeat Magazine Awards. In 2012, Golan was named Grand Prize Winner of The American Prize for Orchestral Programming. As this is Lawrence’s inaugural season as music director of the DPO, each concert  features music relating in one way or another to “New Beginnings” … Inauspicious Beginnings, Noels & New Year, Young Love, New Formations & Mysterious Mountains, and New Frontiers.

It’s a season brimming with fresh and exciting music. Join us, won’t you?
