A Baroque Christmas—Händel’s “Messiah” with Boulder Bach Festival, Friday 12/17

December 17, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$60

Our December concert offers a thrilling opportunity to hear Händel’s Messiah (Christmas portion) as you’ve never heard it before! Performed by one-per-part instrumental and vocal soloists, Carrettin’s rendition offers delightful aplomb, virtuosic clarity, riveting tempos, and meaningful intimacy. BBF’s resident ensemble, COmpass REsonance delivers a sparkling performance utilizing Baroque bows by the string players, chamber organ, and harpsichord.

Vocal soloists hail from Boston and Colorado’s Front Range—soprano Mara Riley, mezzo-soprano Claire McCahan (World Bach Competition winner), tenor Daniel Hutchings, and baritone Adam Ewing.

CORE opens the program with Corelli’s adored Concerto Noel, a masterpiece of the concerto grosso genre.

  • What are BBF’s COVID-19 precautionary measures?

Boulder Bach Festival has developed protocols to ensure a safe environment for the musicians and the audience. Taking into consideration the recently updated Boulder County Health orders and our patrons’ safety concerns, our upcoming concerts on December 17 and 19 will be fully vaccinated events.

Children not yet eligible for the vaccine are invited to attend the December 19 performance at 2PM (only), and all audience members regardless of age must wear a mask at all times while attending the event, unless otherwise notified by the BBF.

Ticket holders who do not comply with this policy will not be admitted.

AT THE CONCERT:

PLEASE BE PREPARED TO SHOW YOUR VACCINATION CARD AS EITHER HARDCOPY, OR DIGITALLY FROM “MYCOLORADO” APP OR YOUR MOBILE PHONE. Photocopies or printed copies on paper won’t be accepted unless they are the original, authentic vaccination card.

We are planning on up-to 50% capacity at the December performances, and up-to 60% capacity at First Congregational Church in May 2022. As regards masks and vaccines, we will update all ticket holders via email during the month prior to each concert and following CDC and Boulder County Guidelines. The safety of our patrons and artists is of primary importance to us!
