The Colorado Hebrew Chorale and The Longmont Chorale join together for a collaborative evening of song October 13, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the beautiful sanctuary at Hebrew Educational Alliance in south Denver.

Connoisseurs of both sacred and secular music will enjoy this lovingly‐crafted concert. “It’s very exciting for us to be a part of this undertaking,” says Carol Kozak Ward, Colorado Hebrew Chorale’s Founder and Music Director. ‘Halleluyah, Amen!’ is an opportunity for a different kind of exchange for singers and audiences members alike. We are looking forward to performing these works that are both sensitive and powerful.”

The concert embraces the touchstones of choral traditions, both ancient and contemporary. The program includes works in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, and English performed separately by the Colorado Hebrew Chorale, the Longmont Chorale, and the Longmont Singers, as well as joint offerings by the combined choral forces. The eclectic choice of songs ranges from the psalm “By the Waters of Babylon” by Italian Renaissance composer Salomone Rossi to the Moses Hogan arrangement of the African‐American spiritual, “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel”.  The evening also features choruses from Handel’s rarely-performed oratorio Judas Maccabaeus and other surprises.
