Antonín Dvořák String Serenade
Antonín Dvořák’s Serenade for String Orchestra has been described as “balm for the soul.” The five movements include music of soaring beauty, an elegant waltz, an exuberant finale, and moments that serve as musical postcards from Prague. Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was an Afro-Brit contemporary of Edward Elgar and Vaughan Williams who was celebrated in his all too short lifetime. Colorado Symphony Concertmaster, Yumi Hwang-Williams, joins us for two of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Yumi will lead us from the harvest, through a beautiful movement of sitting by the fire, to a good Colorado romp in the ice and snow!
