Summer Sight-Singing Romp 2016- where YOU are the choir!

The Colorado Hebrew Chorale will be hosting its Summer Sight-Singing Romp.
The public is welcome to join the Chorale and area choral directors for an evening of choral singing featuring Tyler’s Suite.
Tyler’s Suite will be premiered in Denver in August 2017 by the Harmony Chorale and the Colorado Hebrew Chorale. It is a new and lauded nine-piece choral movement dedicated to the memory of Tyler Clementi (seen in the photo above), a talented young musician who committed suicide after being bullied by his roommate during his first weeks of college.
The Suite explores the voices and experiences of Tyler and his family, and ultimately shines a light of hope and endless possibility thanks to words from celebrated librettist Pamela Stewart and the music of today’s top composers: Mark Adamo, John Bucchino, Ann Hampton Callaway, Craig Carnelia, John Corigliano, Stephen Flaherty, Nolan Gasser, Jake Heggie, Lance Horne, and Stephen Schwartz.
The message embedded in the text of the final movement, “The Narrow Bridge”, is taken from the famed Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav. All the movements are poignant, but with the renown opera composer Jake Heggie’s music surrounding this particular section, the themes of promoting acceptance and combating bullying are especially compelling.
