Seicento Baroque Ensemble presents “Embellish! Improvisation in Baroque and Jazz” in a performance juxtaposing the vital role of improvisation and ornamentation as it developed in the 17^th century and persists in today’s jazz music. These concerts tie in workshops presented Feb. 29 and March 2 at venues across the Front Range. Concert selections range from the American Song Book to Monteverdi.  Performers include the 36-voice Seicento choir, early music and improvisational specialist Dr. Tina Chancey, the Denver-based Mark Diamond Trio, and three of this year’s apprentice artists advancing their professional careers through Seicento’s 4-month baroque vocal performance studies program.
