Young Artists Concert with Jefferson Symphony: O’Neil conducts Dvořák

Meet the Jefferson Symphony’s 2023 Young Artist, Hans-Derek Yu, who performs Prokofiev’s electrifying Piano Concerto #3 with the orchestra, after winning the JSO’s Young Artist Competition.
Led by Colorado conductor Scott O’Neil (4th conductor candidate for the Jefferson Symphony), the program also features Dmitri Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and the Eighth Symphony by Dvořák. In this symphony, the composer uses the orchestra to depict bird calls, a passing storm, rousing folk dances, and gentle breezes — it’s sheer joy!
