The Colorado Hebrew Chorale invites the community to celebrate the Jewish festival of Lag B’Omer at Four Mile Historic Park on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2013, 2 p.m. The program, Lag B’Omer at Four Mile Historic Park, will include special guests from the Denver Zoo together with music, food, fun, and a bonfire, one of the hallmarks of Lag B’Omer festivities in Israel and around the world.

The Colorado Hebrew Chorale will perform the following works:
Simchu Na – Matityahu Shelem, arr. by Leonard Bernstein
Hi Tavo – Arik Einstein
Mizmor L’David (Psalm 29) – Shlomo Carlebach, arr. by Joshua Jacobson
And the Angels Sing – Ziggy Elman, arr. by Joshua Jacobson
Guest artists will be Harry Grainger, clarinet; Sondra Singer, percussion; and Travis Yamamoto, piano.
Following the success of collaborative programming between the Colorado Hebrew Chorale and Four Mile Historic Park, which began in 2010 with the community Chanukah celebration, Festival of Lights at Four Mile Historic Park, with the support and encouragement of Roots and Branches Foundation and Rose Community Foundation, the Chorale was inspired to create a different multigenerational event that brings together the same elements as Festival of Lights: music, food, fun, a holiday focus, and a family-friendly atmosphere. The Lag B’Omer program, which will take place rain or shine at Four Mile Historic Park, 715 South Forest St., Denver CO 80246, is open to the public, and is co-sponsored by Roots and Branches Foundation, Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, and SCFD, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
